SEPTEMBER — All Your Questions Answered!
Hello Dear Reader,
First, let’s all take a moment to shed a tear for the gorgeous summer that has passed. Good? Now onto the beauty of fall! The beauty and the weird weather, that is.
Moving on, I was shocked by the influx of questions I received from you all! There were so many, I could probably fill three different newsletters with them. It warmed my heart. That being said, I tried to filter through them and pick out the most commonly asked or the most unique. If you don’t see the answer to your question in here, reach out and I’ll either answer it via one-on-one or include it in next month’s issue!
But first, let’s hit our usual spots.
KNEE SLAPPER THURSDAY
I know we can all relate to this…

Verse of the Month
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Philippians 2:3 ESV
Now, onto the show…
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
“When is book 2 coming out?”
- It’s safe to say this this was definitely my most asked question! While I don’t have a established date just yet, the plan is to have it out before the end of the year, so keep your eyes open.
“Do you have plans for a bigger series?”
- In short, yes. Will I divulge any further information about it at this time, no. But it’s safe to say that this isn’t the last that you’ll see of Rivka David.
“I haven’t read your book yet but want too soon! What is the main theme?”
- “The Abditory’s” main theme is “the road to forgiveness.”
“Team Evander or Team Gidon?”
- Can I say both? I wrote them after all. 😜
“Would you change something from your first book if you could?”
- I think most authors would if they could. I love the story, but there would be a few touch-ups that I would include.
“Are you doing another giveaway?”
- Potentially in the future!
“Do you have other social media?”
- Yes! You can find me on Facebook and Pinterest (@saraxgherasim). Instagram is definitely my main gal, though.
“Is there a way I can help you? Like with your book or anything really?”
- 100%! Let me just first say, super sweet of you to ask! First, prayers are always appreciated! Second, spreading the word about “The Abditory” is also phenomenal, especially by leaving a review on Amazon. Last, just supporting me via social media; liking my posts, interacting my stories, etc..
“Is there a way that I can promote your book?”
- This ties in with the previous question. Anything helps: leaving a review on Amazon, make an Instagram story or post, TikTok video, or even just telling a friend!
“What’s your current read?”
- “The Thief” by Stephanie Landsem.
“How much work does it take to write a book? Or for you at least.”
- While writing is fun, it’s definitely still a full-time job. My average day is about 8-10 hours of work. This includes researching and reading, creating a storyline and characters, writing, editing, and then rewriting again. Truly, I don’t know how some writers can pump out a new book every few months.
“If your book were made into a movie, which actors would play your characters?”
- Rivka would be played by Naomi Scott or Millie Bobby Brown, Evander by Leo Suter, and Gidon by Ben Barnes.
“Are we getting another sneak peek into your second book?”
- Eventually, yes!
“What’s your favorite line from your book?”
- I’m torn between two…
- “Maybe you’re putting your trust in a person who can’t fill the hole on your heart. There’s only one person who can be there for you and will never betray you.”
- “He was the greatest plot twist in my story of life.”
“Any weird writing habits?”
- I’m not sure if this is weird, per say, but I have to chew gum.
“Who’s your favorite character from your book?”
- I love everyone, but I suppose I’m partial to Rivka. She was the first character I created. It’s like she’s my baby.
“What are you looking forward to most this year?”
- Finishing and publishing the sequel!
“What author would you interview if you could?”
- Either Francine Rivers or Markus Zusak. I’m very curious about their process and where they get their inspiration from.
“Who were Rivka’s parents?”
- Rivka’s mother died when she was very young. Her father, an archeologist and historian, raised her and after his death Rivka joined Mossad.
“Will Rivka have a rival in the second book?”
- I can’t confirm or deny this, but I will say some things will happen when you least expect it.
“Favorite time period?”
- Do I have to pick just one? I’m a big history nut, so I like most times in history. It’d probably be easier to tell you what I don’t like; the 1970s and 1600s.
“What’s your dream?”
- To have my book touch people’s lives.
Thank you all again so much for your questions, it was so great and fun hearing from all of you! If you still have some, don’t be shy and hit that button. You are amazing!
COMING NEXT MONTH
As we truly enter into the fall season, you can be sure that we will be entering into a fall theme! A hint for next month is a combination of the following words: pumpkin, cats, candy, apples, and the Celts. Vague? Obviously clear? I guess you’ll just have to wait and see!
See You Next Month!
