JULY — A Brazilian Cool Down

Hello Dear Reader,

Happy Belated 4th of July! As we hit the middle of summer, I have a special surprise for you. With all the book recommendations from last time, I thought that it would be fitting to add something to go with it! As you lay on your patio, sunglasses on, book in hand, here is something to keep you refreshed in this summer heat – my recipe for Brazilian Limeade! This easy, tasty recipe will be having you licking your lips from delight.

Knee Slapper Thursday

Something to fit our sugary theme!

Verse of the Month

“…Let your heart hold fast to my words; keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.”

Proverbs 4:4-5 ESV

Onto the Yummy Goodness…

Brazilian Limeade

Servings: 4 cups

– 4 limes, scrubbed and washed

– ⅓ cup granulated sugar

– half of a 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

– 4 cups cold water

– 4 cups ice

– optional: bag of frozen strawberries

Wash you limes and place in blender.

– Add ice, sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and cold water (and frozen strawberries).

– To avoid bitterness, pulse 5-8 times, just until ingredients are combined

– Strain

– Pour over ice

– Garnish with strawberries or limes

Note: Traditionally, strawberries aren’t included in this recipe, but it was a yummy and fun twist that I added to the drink. Again, totally optional, but highly recommended!

If you try this recipe, let me know how it turned out! I would love to hear your thoughts! And while you have that limeade in hand, if you haven’t already, leave me a review! Your feedback is so important, helping me with my writing and getting “The Abditory” out into the world!

See You Next Month!
